Stamps:  Friends 24-7 Stampin up
Ink:  Stampin-Up Apricot Appeal, Versafine Vintage Sepia

Measurements/directions
Base 12x5" scored at 4" and 8"

Kraft tag center:  2 1/2" x 4"

Directions:
1.  Cut and Score the designer paper.
2.  Fold the card into a Tri-fold
3. Fold the corner of each outer panel to the score line (this creates a triangle at each corner.  Cut the top left triangle off and glue down the top Right triangle Flap to form the pocket.  Glue the bottom ONLY of the pocket to keep in place.  I put two staples in the corner.
4.  Stamp the Flour onto the beige layer using Apricot Appeal.  Stamp the bird in Vintage Sepia.
5.  Punch out the corners using a small circle punch and glue the beige panel on the blue panel.
6.  Add "Bling" to each Corner.
7.  Glue onto the front of the card.  Make sure to only put glue on the areas touching the front of the card.
8.  Stamp the sentiment on piece of scrap beige.  Punch out with Label Punch.  Punch a light blue piece, cut in half, layer and glue.
9.  Cut the tag pieces, stamp flowers and color in.
10.  On scraps stamp "here for you" and "24-7"  Punch out with small circle and rectangle punches and glue to card.
11.  Punch hole, add ribbon, and tie into bow.  This will show on the front of the card.
12.  Secure with a decorative paper clip.

Tea Party Pictures

I hosted three tables at a senior tea party today.  My friend Daphne Hallman (aka Dazzling Daphne) was kind enough to teach me the art of creating a table scape.  I learned it is all about the layers.  I created handmade gifts for each place setting and everything turned out really nice.

Today I was approached by several people asking about where I got my Jewelry (Beautiful Necklace).  I am amazed at how much Jewelry can change an outfit.  If you are interested in getting your wardrobe "blinged out" like I did my tables get in touch with Dazzling Daphne.

Thanks again Daphne for helping to make my tables extra special.
Happy Mother's Day!

Tea Party Sneak Peak

The Senior Tea Party is today and here is a sneak peak of a few items i made for each place setting.  I will post additional pictures this weekend of the finished tables.

My friend andrea helped me come up with this idea for mint holders.  This is how I made them.

1. My husband cut PVC pipe 1 3/4"
2. I covered with decorative paper3. I glued a plastic wine cup (without the base) onto  PVC.  Best Glue E-6000
4.  I tied a Tulle Knot around the base of the cup
5.  I filled with bible verse mints
I also made a second version using the paper flowers.
Thanks Andrea!

For the dessert plates I glued a poem onto a doily.  My friend Linda helped me find the poem and edit it on the computer. My Friend Rona cut pink circles with my gypsy and glued onto a paper doily.
Thanks so much Linda and Rona!
The Poem says:
Just put the kettle on to boil and have a cup of tea, Then sit down in your favorite chair and cozy up with me!  Today you don't need sugar, I really want to say, You sweeten everything you touch, Have a Happy Mothers Day!

I will post pictures of the tea party soon!
Happy Mothers Day!

Flower Power Napkin Ring

I am sponsoring three tables for a mothers day tea at a local senior community on Saturday.  I have been creating decorations for the tables using things from my stash.  I had left over silk flowers and decided to alter them to make flowers for the napkin rings.
Here's how I made them.
1.  My husband cut PVC pipe (medium thickness) into 1 1/2" pieces.
2.  I sanded the sides to make them smooth.
3.  I put a strip of red double sided tape down each side of the PVC pipe.
4.  I covered with decorative paper strip (1 1/2" x 6")
5.  I made the flowers using pieces from the silk flowers and 3 scalloped punched paper circles.

6.  I crinkled up the scallops circles and then unfolded them.
7.  I punched a hole in the center of all three scallops.
8.  I inserted a brad through the 3 paper scallops and the 4 silk layers.
9.  I crinkled up the paper to form the inside of the flower.
10.  I glued two leaves and the flower to the paper covered PVC piece.

They came together very quickly.  I will send pictures of the finished tables.

My First Beading Class

My friend Julie and I took a beading class this week in Castle Hills.  We had a great time while learning beading basics and creating a necklace and earring set.  The store is beautiful, they feature work from local artists,  and they offer a variety of classes.  I have definitely been bitten by the beading bug.

Check out their website.
